Large items that don’t need crating need to be palletized and wrapped. MEI will palletize your equipment, machinery, or bulky items, shrink wrap it, and load it for shipment or storage.  We will arrange end to end service, including shipping, and rigging and unloading on the sending or receiving end.

Placement of Wrap

Shrink wrap is a polyethylene plastic that is formulated to shrink when heat is applied. Shrink wrap plastic, when heated, shrinks tightly to whatever it is wrapped around or secured to, providing a barrier to some moisture and debris. This shrinking process actually makes the plastic stronger, and when installed correctly, can form an effective seal around odd shaped, large or cumbersome objects for storage or transport.

Applications for Shrink Wrap

Shrink Wrap is great for items that need to be covered for seasonal storage out of doors, or for added protection for indoor storage, or for items that don’t require a full crate for protection, but need a cover from rain and debris during transport.

Tougher than a Tarp

When installed properly, shrink wrap can be tougher than tarps and much tighter around the product than a tarp. This helps to eliminate stretching and tearing from wind. This also keeps the plastic from scratching the product. Most shrink wrap materials have UV inhibitors made into them to fight the damage the sun causes to many kinds of tarps.
