MEI Rigging & Crating Breaks Ground in Houston
July 15th, 2015
MEI Rigging & Crating is pleased to announce the groundbreaking of a new 80,000 square foot rigging and crating facility in Houston Texas, due to open in early 2016.
The 10+ acre site is located within the Kennedy Greens South Business Park in North Houston near the George Bush International Airport. The new facility will include a secure indoor storage space as well as a fenced outdoor area. Six freight docks, large ground level doors, and a very large paved yard will support MEI’s rapidly expanding Rigging & Crating operations in the greater Houston area.
MEI will use the expanded interior space for storage, staging, and crate assembly. The larger yard will enable more deliveries, outdoor storage, and adequate facilities for packing and crating of air and ocean freight, as well as other large items for export. The new facility features advanced security, including secure indoor storage space for warehoused equipment, and a fenced outdoor area with security cameras.
“We’ve seen a big increase in demand in the Houston market,” says Dan Cappello, President, and CEO of MEI Rigging & Crating, “and we’re excited about this larger, more secure facility to accommodate that growth.” The company has a long history of unprecedented and unparalleled growth in the rigging, crating, warehousing and industrial space.
